Celebrating 50 Years in Masonry

14 November 2011

RBWP 2011

What does Fifty years in Freemasonry represent? On Monday 13th of November 2011 at the Regular Meeting of Masefield No. 2034 held at Kings Heath Masonic Hall, the members of Masefield Lodge surrounded by a host of Provincial Rulers (from this Province and neighbouring Provinces) both Present and Past, supported by Grand Lodge Officers, Brethren and Distinguished Royal Arch Masons listened to a proclamation outlining the Masonic career of V.W.Bro. Richard B.W. Price.

The Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Richard George Hamilton Goddard was in attendance to present personally a Fifty year Certificate to V.W.Bro. Richard and congratulate him on his successful and distinguished journey to this milestone celebration.

Over eighty brethren listened to a delivery from W.Bro. Peter Band of an overview of Richards life, his school days, romance and family, and business activities, before explaining how R.B.W. Price had been introduced to Masonry at an early age by his Father. This thoughtful and humorous rendition of the life and times of Richard was followed by the Provincial Grand Master, who presented the Certificate and pointed out that he and Richard were Installed into their respective High Offices on the same day.

W.Bro. John Crowther then delivered the “Proclamation” commemorating 50 years of long, loyal and devoted service to Freemasonry in general and to this the Masefield Lodge No. 2034 in particular.
V.W.Bro. Richard was then saluted according to his Rank.

Finally a presentation of a silver salvo commemorating this event was made from the Lodge, to V.W.Bro. Richard by W.Bro. John Carreras, P.Prov.G.Swd.B., Worshipful Master.

It is well known throughout our Province that V.W.Bro. Richard was appointed M. E. Grand Superintendent in and over The Royal Arch Prov. of Worcestershire from 2004 – 2010 and possesses a string of honours too numerous to mention in this article, it should be mentioned that fifty years has not taken its toll, V.W.Bro. Richard will be the first to say he has not finished yet.
Here’s to the Sixtieth anniversary. Click here for images.
